Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Sarah Mackey says this is the most significant contribution a corporate donor has made to a Habitat Home. LRS, a computer consulting comapny, already has given $60,000 to finance the project and its employees are pledging to give 150 hours to help build it.
The Nudo home will be built on Enterprise in Grandview. It will be a three bedroom ranch with a living, dining room, bathroom and kitchen. Sabrina says she found out about Habitat from the secretary at the school she is a custodian in for Springfield School District.
"She told me a little bit about the program and I decided to take the jump," says Nudo. She has 170 sweat equity hours toward her house. She says she has a way to go, but it will be great to have her own home. She says she's never owned her own home and actually has moved about eight times since her 9-year-old daughter was born.
Izabell and Malcom are looking forward to having their own rooms. Izabell can't wait to have friends over and Malcolm is looking forward to his racecar room which will feature an LRS racing car theme.
The foundation and subfloor are in on the house. Volunteers will start putting up the walls on Friday and doing many other tasks to get the outside of the house complete.
This is house number 89 for Habitat. Nudo says her move in date is set for November 15th.
