Law enforcement announces holiday roadside checks

If you're having a good time during the holidays and you've had too much to drink, Springfield Police Sergeant Charles Keene implores you to hand over your keys. Keene says Springfield has teamed up with IDOT to run a special enforcement between 6pm and 9am during Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.  He says those are the times when most of the crashes with injuries occurred last year.502 people were injured in the state last Christmas Eve and another 502 on the New Year's Eve holiday.
