Jacksonville "Strawberry Meth" Flier Likely a Hoax

A picture making the rounds on Facebook warns of a new drug going around schools but officials say it's a hoax.  It's a picture of a flyer that warns against "strawberry meth" that looks like pop rocks and tastes like strawberries but is actually supposed to be crystal meth.  The flyer urges parents to tell their children not to take candy from anyone, including classmates.

The warning is typed on letterhead from "Memorial Physician Services" in Jacksonville.  An official statement from Memorial Health Systems, made on their Facebook page, states the message is a hoax and they apologize for the inconvenience.  Police in Jacksonville say there are plenty of novelty drugs marketed toward youth but they haven't come across the "strawberry meth."
