Former Ill. Medical District Commissioner Indicted



A federal grand jury has indicted the former Commissioner of the Illinois Medical District, Leon Dingle Jr., his wife and two others on charges they allegedly used millions of dollars in Illinois Department of Public Health grant funds for their personal benefit. 

The alleged fraud took place from 2004 to June of 2012.  Dingle reportedly represented millions of dollars of grant funds would be used for non profit purposes, but ended up using $3.7 million or more for personal expenses.  Arraignment is scheduled for November 7th.
