A Congressional candidate wants to tackle the economy

Dr. David Gill is an emergency room physician and the Democratic candidate in the 13th Congressional District.

Gill appeared on the Morning NewsWatch with Bob Murray on Friday and said he supports federal emergency low-interest loans for farmers. He said for those who are lacking adequate crop insurance, the government needs to back low-interest loans because credit very tight in today's economy.

He also says the economy and jobs are the top issues in the 13th District. As a physician and small business owner, he says he wants to create new jobs.

Gill pointed out that has never been on a government payroll and wants to go to Washington because, as a physician, he cares about the well-being of his fellow Illinoisians.
